The Lilly Raiders won their fifth championship in 1972 in fine fashion. After tying St. Joe’s of Portage in the opening game, the Raiders came back later in the season to seal the title.
Coach Eugene Talko won the title in just his second season of coaching.
These member of the team are welcome at the Lilly Raider Football Championship Reunion Sunday, Sept. 4 at the Lilly Legion. Social will start at 2 p.m.

Coaches: Head Coach Gene Talko, Assistant Mike Felus and Hugh Conrad.
From what I can tell, the team had a 6-1-1 record. In the all-star game, Tom Miesko was named the top offensive player and Frank Stossel the best defender.
