I have now become an international educator

… tutoring from France

A young college student needed some help with some essays for graduate school. So, my tutoring took me to a different realm yesterday.

She was in France, and I thought of all the things that could go wrong with an online tutoring session from 2,000 miles and an ocean away.

Nothing did, and the session was like it was done in the U.S. In fact, it was very clear and audible and better than many of my sessions in the U.S.

So, while I was somewhat of an international educator earlier this summer, the student was from North America — Canada -- this was a very different experience.

This student was born in France but then immigrated to the U.S. in her youth, not knowing a word of English. She is very good with the English and is now attending an American university.

This was not on my bucket list, but it was a joy on a number of levels.
