"The Yellow Wallpaper" by Charlotte Perkins Gilman
Sometimes, you read what is in front of you.
That has been the case for the last six months for me. I have not been reading as much from the books on the shelf, but instead, I have perused stories that were not on my list.
The reason is that I am tutoring students who are reading novels and short stories that have been interesting, but not ones that I had looked at as possibilities when I started my summer reading list.
I am definitely reading and analyzing the stories, which has been delightful. However, many of these are plays and short stories instead of long novels or non-fiction.
So, here is where I am right now.
Novels, short stories, drama, and non-fiction
“The Story of An Hour” by Kate Chopin, done
“The Yellow Wallpaper” by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, done

“Fences” by August Wilson, done

“The Woman Warrior” by Maxine Hong Kingston

All of the above are readings from student assignments.
